It’s the golden age of Hollywood. Studios are sprouting like weeds on the San Fernando Valley. Movie stars are littering tinsel town like runaway dogs. Well, thankfully we have the Coen Brothers, those snarky film makers, to shed a little bit of humor on the time-period.
From the award winning duo that brought you: Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller’s Crossing, True Grit and many more, comes next year’s reach for a new Academy Award Statue -Hail, Caesar!
What a star-studded affair it will be. With the acting strength and billboard power of a veritable who’s who in Hollywood, one can’t help but feel that when the credits start rolling there will be bloody battle for top-bill. George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Francis McDormand, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes and, if we’re lucky, a cameo appearance by John Goodman.
Hail Caesar! follows a convoluted plot of interconnecting story-lines -a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with series of problems to sort out. Among them, the kidnapping of his main star and the halting of production for that year’s studio cash-cow.
The movie premieres next year on February 18th.
