Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal responded to just three questions before he walked out of his press conference.
64-year-old Dutchman reacted after one of the journalists asked him what he thought about his future on the bench ‘Red Devils’ after speculation that he might get fired.
A Dutch expert has previously pointed out that he appeared before the journalists only because of the rules of Premier League – if it was his call, he would not have shown up.
When he left, Van Gaal told the reporters: “I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy your wine and pie. Goodbye”.
United did not win in their last six games, drawing 3 and losing 3 – from Wolfsburg, Bournemouth, and Norwich.
Van Gaal was visibly angry in the moment he sat at the table before the start of the press conference at the training center in Carrington.
“Does anybody in this room feel that he should apologize to me? That is what I am wondering,” said Van Gaal when asked what he thinks about the statement of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that it is not appropriate to speculate about Van Gaal’s future.
The former manager of the Netherlands pointed out that the members of his family and friends are not only affected by the criticism but also about the rumors that Jose Mourinho would is to replace him the “Old Trafford”.
“What do you think happens to my wife or children? Or my grandchildren? Or fans of Manchester United? Or my friends? What do you think? I’m here only because of the rules of the Premier League. I’m forced to talk to you, “said Van Gaal furiously.
United currently holds fifth place in the standings of the Premier League, with the same number of points as Tottenham on the fourth, but nine points behind leaders Leicester City.
Stoke City – Manchester United is scheduled for December 26th, on Britannia Stadium, 1:45 PM local time, and if anything else than win happens, Man UTD will probably look for a new manager.
