The Portuguese head man lost his jobs in December 2015 when he was sacked at Chelsea, and the media have announced in the past few days that ‘ the special one’ will almost certainly on the bench of Manchester United in the next season.

On the other hand, Pep announced last month that he is leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season and take over Manchester City.

“Pep was here in Doha, during the winter break in the Bundesliga and told me that he will work in the Premier League as manager of Manchester City. He needed a new challenge in his career after three years in Munich, and I know that he has always had a great desire to work on the Island,” revealed Xavi.

Josep Guardiola – 18. January 1971 – 19 trophies:

Barcelona – La Liga (08/09, 09/10, 10/11), Copa del Rey (08/09, 11/12), the Super Cup of Spain (09 / 10,11), Champions League (08/09, 10/11 ) UEFA Super Cup (09, 11), FIFA Club world Cup (09/11)

For two years in Spain, they had played 12 matches against one another, and Pep was far more successful with seven wins, three draws and a defeat.

“I think the arrival of Mourinho at United would be a good thing for football,” said Xavi, one of the key players during the domination of Pep’s Barca.

“We can expect shiny, attractive and fierce duels between Pep and Jose. Also, I am convinced that City will be very successful with Pep. Two of them have different views on football,” added Xavi.

Xavi is closely connected with the current manager of the ‘Red Devils’, Louis van Gaal, who had allowed him to debut for the ‘blaugrana’ 18 years ago.

“I’m very sorry to see him in this position, he is an honest person and a great coach,” concluded Xavi.
