Game of Thrones season 6: Battle Banners teasers

As we get closer and closer to the highly anticipated season 6 of HBO’S megahit series Game of Thrones, new promo materials are been released to keep fans even more hyped for the premiere.

This time the official twitter account of Game of Thrones unveiled 3 new teasers that show us a small glimpse of what to expect in the new episodes. The idea is that fans can reply with hashtags of Houses Stark, Lannister, or Targaryen and they receive a video teaser in return.

So far it seems that House Stark is winning while hashtags for Raven are also being counted in the overall tally. House Martell, House Greyjoy, and House Tyrell are not being calculated into the overall count at this time.

The new teasers don’t show any actual footage from the new season, instead they set the stage for each house’s respective struggle, showing each house’s respective flag in horrible conditions accompanied by an ominous narration from someone seeking to destroy that house, including characters like the High Sparrow and Ramsay Bolton.

So let’s take a closer look at each one of the new teasers:

House Stark teaser

In this clip we hear the words of one of the most hated guys in the series (since Joffrey’s death of course) and overall one of the best villains in the show, Ramsay Bolton formerly Ramsay Snow who is brilliantly portrayed by actor Iwan Rheon.

“Winterfell is mine, come and see,” as we see the “Stark Battle Banner,” amidst lightning, threatening skies and a dark background.

Last time we saw the character he was chasing Sansa and Theon as they both jump from a high ground into an unknown future.

House Lannister teaser

“Every one of us is poor,” says Jonathan Pryce as the scary High Sparrow in the “Lannister” tease. “And powerless.”

As you can hear the chants of “Shame!” from the iconic Cersei Lannister walk of shame, he threatens: “And yet together, we can overthrow an empire.”

Look for the Sparrows to really up their game in season 6 and become something that many may develop bigger fear over. There are going to be some intense situations happening and the religious movement is going to play a rather large role.

House Targaryen teaser

This tease focuses on fire and threatens Daenerys (aka Khaleesi) in the native Dorthraki tongue. “You are nobody,” a voice in Dothraki says. “The millionth of your name. Queen of nothing.”

Things certainly don’t look good for Daenerys, but to be honest she pretty much has always had the odds against her from day one. But with the show moving to unknown territory only one thing is clear: No one is safe!!.

Overall these teasers underscore that every house and every character on Game of Thrones is in great danger.

The excitement is at the highest because for the first time in the show history, previously unread story plots will be aired ahead of the books, so viewers and fans of the books don’t know what’s gonna happen next.

Game of Thrones season 6 premieres Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
